The exhibit “Collection Additions,” which features recent acquisitions to the Gonzaga University permanent art collection, will be on display in the Jundt Galleries at the Gonzaga University Jundt Art Musuem from January 22nd through April 4th. Through grants, gifts, purchases, and donations the Jundt Art Museum has expanded its collection with additions from local, regional, national, and international artists. This selection of recent gifts and acquisitions to the University’s permanent art collection highlights the diversity of the Museum’s holdings. From contemporary to old masters, this exhibit spans four centuries to include an array of screenprints, relief prints (woodblock and linoleum cuts), lithographs, intaglio prints and etchings, oil paintings, acrylic paintings, drawings in charcoal, pastel, and pen-and-ink wash, photographs, sculptures, and ceramics. Recently added to the collection and on display are works by James T. Bailey, Glen Baldridge, Leonard Baskin, Romare Bearden, Lanny DeVuono, Jim Dine, William Elston, Michelle Forsyth, Ubaldo Gandolfi, Nan Golden, Zhang Guanghui, Susan Hauptman, Randy Hayes, Jim Hodges, Pam Ingalls, Michael Mazur, Robert Motherwell, Eadweard Muybridge, Frank Okada, Ambrose Patterson, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Leonard Pytlak, Harriet Sanderson, Cindy Sherman, Roger Shimomura, Edward Steichen, Frank Stella, Toyokuni, Pär Gunnar Thelander, Emile Antoine Verpilleux, Neil Welliver, and others. There will be a free public walk-through with Jundt Art Museum Director and Curator J. Scott Patnode on Friday, January 22nd at 10am and a full public artist’s reception on Thursday, March 25th from 6:00-7:15pm. The museum’s exhibitions are free and open to the public from 10am to 4pm, Monday through Friday and noon to 4pm on Saturdays. The museum is closed on Sundays and school holidays.
