Transplanted here by love
Grown in love for ponderosa pines,
hot summers, and rolling fields of wheat
Wedded to the Spokane River and the big blue sky
We'll weather the fires, the snow,
and the potholes of life together You and I
Cracks run deep
and jagged sidewalk streets
grow resilient and patient with pain.
Your broken concrete makes room
for us to breathe.
you can make art from wreckage,
but you can’t drag truth from the river.
In Spokane, teeth are the only bones that show.
I love the Garland District
because it reminds me of home.
I was born and raised in California and
wanted a better life for my family.
So we decided to move to Spokane and
buy a home in the Garland District
because it's eclectic, beautiful and fun.
The Rocket provided fuel.
A Milk Bottle marked the spot.
Past the Tin Man I found the Gathering House.
Ooops, I dropped my drawers.
Thanks for everything.
The middle of it all
it's okay to be different.
let your freak flag fly.
Prevailing beauty fills your streets,
an endless hum of life repeats.
Melting pot, thriving garden,
you, my friend, can't be forgotten.
